Hello All, I need to hang six guitars. 1 classical , 2 electric, 3 acoustic. However, I don't want to buy what's available in the retail market. That's what scrap wood and off-cuts are for!!!!!! So , if anyone had ideas they could share , I would greatly appreciate. Simple or complex, no matter so long as they are homemade! Many thx, landrover |

String on tuning peg, nail in wall. Real simple no brainer. See pic using a 5 inch finishing nail with custom, hand modified, right angle bend to help stop the string from sliding off. Nice thing about this method is you don't even need the wood scraps.   Me went to college and gotts a degree in Materials and Processes just to be able to figure that out. Nice idea eh. Feel free to use it.  Then there is this...  blessings  ?adma

For building, repairing, and especially finishing, I need to be able to hang guitars so they're not touching any finished surface. I have to hang slot-head classicals and steel strings with and without tuners, peg-head flamencos, paddle head steel strings (again, with and without tuners). In my repair room, I need them to hang flat against the wall, but not touching. In my finishing room, they need to hang sideways. (The rooms are shaped differently, and this makes the best use of space.) The hangers I use are crude, but they do the job. ...i didn't claim to make the fiddle; it is an inexpensive chinese violin pictured. but i did carve a top and back for a fiddle, which i may have posted at some point a couple years back. still working on it/ may never finish it. |

I use leather straps with slots on each end to fit over the tuners. Got the idea from guitar center. Then make a carpet covered rail and attach to the wall so the back can rest against it. Chuck |

Here is what I made with tool hangers. Brand is Crawford SH13 about $1.50 each at the hardware. I spaced then 12 in, aparts wich is not enough for 2 guitars side by side, but enough for a smaller instrument in between. |

Here are a couple of the hangers that I've made. This one is plywood screwed together with some leather padding. Screwed to the studs in my basement workshop.  This one is made of some solid walnut and leather pad. A keyhole on the back fits a screw in the wall. It is in my tv room for holding a guitar during the summer. In winter, they go in cases with humidifiers.
